In Friday's non-league battle, the host East Brunswick Bears volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Notre Dame Irish.
The Bears (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against South Brunswick (Monmouth Junction, NJ). The Vikings come into the Greater Middlesex - Red battle with a 0-0 record.
