In Friday's non-league battle, the visiting Taft Eagles volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Proviso East Pirates.
The Eagles (3-7) will now prepare for their battle against Hampshire (Hampshire, IL). The Whip-Purs come into the non-league battle with a 7-3 record. In their last battle, Hampshire achieved victory over Cary-Grove (Cary, IL), 2-1, in a league battle.
Next, the Pirates clash with the Niles West Wolves (Skokie, IL) in a non-league battle, on Friday, September 8. Proviso East will attempt to advance on its 1-8 season record. The Wolves come into the battle with a 1-4 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Evanston (Evanston, IL).
