Athens Christian Eagles (Athens, GA) backers exited the stadium satisfied Monday as they witnessed their softball team tip the host John Milledge Academy Trojans (Milledgeville, GA), 3-1 in a non-league match.

The Eagles (3-5) will now prepare for their match against Bethlehem Christian Academy (Bethlehem, GA). The Knights come into the GIAA Class AAA & AAAA District 4 match with a 7-5 record. In their last match, Bethlehem Christian Academy by George Walton Academy (Monroe, GA), 7-5, in a league game.

The Trojans now own a 7-5 record. They play next when they travel to Stratford Academy for a GIAA Class AAA & AAAA District 6 game on Tuesday, September 9. John Milledge Academy will play a Eagles squad coming off a 5-1 non-league loss to Southwest Georgia Academy (Damascus, GA). The Eagles record now stands at 5-7.
