The Elizabeth Cardinals softball team scored 5 runs and held the host Discovery Canyon Thunder to 0 in the Cardinals non-league win on Monday.

The Cardinals now possess a 9-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sand Creek for a 4A/3A CSML North challenge on Tuesday, September 9. Elizabeth will meet a Scorpions squad coming off a 11-8 non-league loss to George Washington (Denver, CO). The Scorpions record now stands at 1-5.

The Thunder (4-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Air Academy (US Air Force Academy, CO). The Kadets enter the 4A Pikes Peak challenge with a 9-0 record. In their last challenge, Air Academy edged Rocky Mountain (Fort Collins, CO), 10-7, in a non-league challenge.
