Irwin County Indians (Ocilla, GA) fans exited the stadium satisfied Monday as they witnessed their softball team tip the host Valwood Valiants (Valdosta, GA), 6-1 in a non-league match.

The Indians (10-2) will now prepare for their match against Turner County (Ashburn, GA). The Titans come into the 1A D-II Region 2 match with a 2-9 record. In their last match, Turner County nipped Mitchell County (Camilla, GA), 31-17, in a non-league match.

Next up, the Valiants play the Brookwood Warriors (Thomasville, GA) in a GIAA Class AAA & AAAA District 3 game, on Tuesday, September 9. Valwood will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Warriors enter the game with a 5-3 record after their 7-5 league loss to Deerfield-Windsor (Albany, GA).
