North Carolina High School Volleyball - Carson over Draughn

September 8, 2025: Valdese, NC 28690

Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the Carson Cougars (China Grove, NC) and the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), observed Carson's volleyball team top Draughn by a count of 3-0.

The Cougars (13-2) will now prepare for their contest against West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, NC). The Falcons enter the South Piedmont 4A/5A contest with a 3-4 record. In their last contest, West Rowan notched a victory over Northwest Cabarrus (Concord, NC), 3-1, in a league contest.

Next, the Wildcats meet the West Caldwell Warriors (Lenoir, NC) in a Western Piedmont 3A/4A battle, on Tuesday, September 9. Draughn will attempt to improve on its 6-4 season record. The Warriors go into the battle with a 2-9 record after their 3-1 league loss to Patton (Morganton, NC).
