The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Loyalton Grizzlies (Loyalton, CA) and the host Princeton Eagles (Princeton, CA), saw Loyalton's volleyball squad beat Princeton by a tally of 3-0.

With the win, Loyalton upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Grizzlies travel to North Tahoe (Tahoe City, CA) to play the Lakers in a 2A North bout on Tuesday, September 14. The Lakers go into the bout with a record of 3-2.

The Eagles now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they host Herlong for a non-league bout on Thursday, September 16.

Match Summary

In set 1, Loyalton took an early lead behind the serving of Ava Genasci, and never relinquished it. Princeton rallied, but too late to catch the Grizzlies. In set 2, the Princeton Eagles took an early lead. However, the Grizzlies rallied and overtook the Eagles to take the second set 25-21. Princeton took a commanding lead in set 3 and appeared to have it wrapped up at 24-17. However, the Grizzlies clawed back 8 straight points and eventually closed out the match 27-25.
