The Rye Cove Eagles (Clinchport, VA) football routed the visiting Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA), 47-6 in Friday's non-league bout.
In their next game, the Eagles face the Thomas Walker Pioneers (Ewing, VA) in a Cumberland bout, on Friday, September 16. Rye Cove will attempt to advance on its 3-0 season record. The Pioneers enter the bout with a 1-2 record after their 16-13 league win over Castlewood (Castlewood, VA).
The Bears (0-2) will now prepare for their bout against Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA). The Indians enter the non-league bout with a 2-1 record. In their last bout, Rural Retreat was overwhelmed by Grayson County (Independence, VA), 40-0, in a non-league bout.
