In Friday's non-league game, the Franklin Broncos (Franklin, VA) football team knocked off the visiting Colonial Beach Drifters (Colonial Beach, VA), by a final score of 42-22.
The Broncos (3-0) will now prepare for their game against Essex (Tappahannock, VA). The Trojans come into the non-league game with a 3-0 record. In their last game, Essex toppled King William (King William, VA), 26-13, in a non-league game.
The Drifters now hold a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they host Sussex Central for a non-league game on Friday, September 16. Colonial Beach will battle a Tigers team coming off a 46-16 non-league win over Lancaster (Lancaster, VA). The Tigers record now stands at 1-1.
