Virginia High School Football - Hanover prevails Matoaca

September 9, 2022: Mechanicsville, VA 23116

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Hanover Hawks (Mechanicsville, VA) and the visiting Matoaca Warriors (Chesterfield, VA), observed Hanover's football squad defeat Matoaca by a count of 23-14.

The Hawks now own a 2-0 record. They play next when they travel to Godwin for a non-league contest on Friday, September 16. Hanover will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 34-31 non-league win over Atlee (Mechanicsville, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 2-1.

Coming up next, the Warriors encounter the Thomas Dale Knights (Chester, VA) in a Central contest, on Friday, September 23. Matoaca will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record.
