The Hueytown Golden Gophers football team (Hueytown, AL), was knocked off 54-44 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Hillcrest Patriots (Tuscaloosa, AL)

The Patriots (4-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Brookwood (Brookwood, AL). The Panthers come into the 6A Region 4 challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Brookwood knocked off Central (Tuscaloosa, AL), 26-22, in a league challenge.

The Golden Gophers now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bessemer City for a 6A Region 4 challenge on Friday, September 16. Hueytown will meet a Tigers team coming off a 40-12 league loss to Northridge (Tuscaloosa, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 0-4.
