The Newport Wildcats football team (Newport, KY), was tipped 34-28 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Holmes Bulldogs (Covington, KY)

The Bulldogs (3-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Holy Cross (Covington, KY). The Indians come into the non-league challenge with a 1-3 record.

The Wildcats now sport a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cincinnati College Prep Academy for a non-league challenge on Thursday, September 15. Newport will meet a Lions team coming off a 26-20 non-league loss to St. Bernard-Elmwood Place (St. Bernard, OH). The Lions record now stands at 1-3.
