North Carolina High School Football - Mountain Island Charter prevails Union Academy

September 9, 2022: Monroe, NC 28110

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Mountain Island Charter Raptor (Mt. Holly, NC) and the host Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC), observed Mountain Island Charter's football squad defeat Union Academy by a count of 27-0.

The Raptor now own a 2-0 record. They play next when they travel to Pine Lake Prep for a 1A/2A West Conference A contest on Friday, September 16. Mountain Island Charter will encounter a Pride squad coming off a 21-2 non-league win over Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Pride record now stands at 3-0.

Coming up next, the Cardinals encounter the Lake Norman Charter Knights (Huntersville, NC) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 16. Union Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Knights go into the contest with a 2-2 record after their 19-14 non-league loss to Corvian Community (Charlotte, NC).
