Illinois High School Football - Mt. Vernon gets by Triad

The Mt. Vernon Rams football squad scored 27 points and restricted the host Triad Knights to 22 in the Rams non-league victory on Friday.

The Rams now possess a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Althoff Catholic for a South Seven battle on Friday, September 16. Mt. Vernon will play a Crusaders squad coming off a 13-7 non-league win over Mater Dei (Breese, IL). The Crusaders record now stands at 2-1.

Coming up next, the Knights play the Civic Memorial Eagles (Bethalto, IL) in a Mississippi Valley battle, on Friday, September 16. Triad will attempt to advance on its 1-2 season record. The Eagles enter the battle with a 1-2 record after their 42-0 non-league loss to Roxana (Roxana, IL).
