In Friday's league battle, the host Wayne City Indians volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions.

The Indians (7-7) will now prepare for their battle against Sandoval (Sandoval, IL). The Blackhawks come into the Midland Trail battle with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, Sandoval was edged by Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City (Cowden, IL), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Silver Stallions encounter the Marquette Catholic Explorers (Alton, IL) in a Gateway Metro battle, on Tuesday, September 13. Christ Our Rock Lutheran will attempt to advance on its 1-3 season record. The Explorers come into the battle with a 7-3 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL).
