The St. Joseph Falcons football team (Metuchen, NJ), was beaten 28-20 in Saturday's league challenge with the visiting Somerville Pioneers (Somerville, NJ)

The Pioneers (3-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Montgomery (Skillman, NJ). The Cougars come into the non-league challenge with a 3-0 record. In their last challenge, Montgomery achieved victory over Plainfield (Plainfield, NJ), 23-14, in a league challenge.

The Falcons now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Union for a Big Central - American Gold challenge on Saturday, September 16. St. Joseph will meet a Farmers team coming off a 37-7 league win over Westfield (Westfield, NJ). The Farmers record now stands at 2-1.
