The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the El Modena Vanguards (Orange, CA) and the host Marina Vikings (Huntington Beach, CA), saw El Modena's volleyball squad nip Marina by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, El Modena upgrades its record to 5-3 on the year. The Vanguards host Canyon (Anaheim, CA) to play the Comanches in a bout on Tuesday, September 12. The Comanches go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Canyon won 2-1 in their recent non-league bout against Sunny Hills (Fullerton, CA)

The Vikings now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Laguna Beach for a bout on Tuesday, September 19. Marina will play a Breakers squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Newport Harbor (Newport Beach, CA). The Breakers record now stands at 4-8.
