New York High School Soccer - Corning-Painted Post knocks off Athens

Corning-Painted Post Hawks (Corning, NY) supporters were pleased Saturday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Athens Wildcats (Athens, PA), 6-0 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Hawks confront the Horseheads Blue Raiders (Horseheads, NY) in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference (STAC) challenge, on Tuesday, September 12. Corning-Painted Post will attempt to move on its 5-0 season record. The Blue Raiders enter the challenge with a 2-1 record after their 1-0 league win over Union-Endicott (Endicott, NY).
The Wildcats now possess a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wellsboro for a North Tier challenge on Tuesday, September 12. Athens will confront a Hornets team coming off a 5-1 league win over Galeton (Galeton, PA). The Hornets record now stands at 3-1.
