The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Hillgrove Hawks (Powder Springs, GA) and the host Cherokee Warriors (Canton, GA), saw Hillgrove's softball squad nip Cherokee by a count of 10-3.

The Hawks now sport a 10-11 record. They take the field next when they host St. Pius X Catholic for a non-league match on Tuesday, September 12. Hillgrove will face a Golden Lions squad coming off a 5-1 non-league win over Campbell (Smyrna, GA). The Golden Lions record now stands at 9-5.

With the loss, Cherokee falls to 6-6 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Wheeler (Marietta, GA) to face the Wildcats in a 7A Region 5 match on Monday, September 11. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 3-8. Wheeler won 19-2 in their recent league match against Osborne (Marietta, GA)
