The Northeast Nodaway Blue Jays (Ravenwood, MO) softball nipped the host Norborne Pirates (Norborne, MO), 8-7 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Blue Jays (4-1) will now prepare for their bout against North Andrew (Rosendale, MO). The Cardinals go into the Class 1 District 16 bout with a 7-4 record. In their last bout, North Andrew held off Southern/Diller-Odell (Wymore, NE), 8-5, in a non-league bout.
The Pirates now possess a 3-2 record. They play next when they host Meadville for a non-league bout on Monday, September 11. Norborne will confront a Eagles squad coming off a 13-0 non-league loss to Lathrop (Lathrop, MO). The Eagles record now stands at 5-6.
