The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Southwest Valley (Corning, IA) and the host Denison-Schleswig Monarchs (Denison, IA), saw Southwest Valley's volleyball squad nip Denison-Schleswig by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Southwest Valley upgrades its record to 4-5 on the year. The host Nodaway Valley (Greenfield, IA) to play the Wolverines in a Pride of Iowa bout on Tuesday, September 12. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 3-6. Nodaway Valley won 2-1 in their recent non-league bout against Des Moines East (Des Moines, IA)

The Monarchs now own a 0-17 record. They play next when they travel to Griswold for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 9. Denison-Schleswig will play a Tigers squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over CAM (Anita, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 11-3.
