The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings held off the host Hudson Pirates volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Vikings now have a 10-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clear Creek-Amana for a WAMAC - West test on Tuesday, September 12. Vinton-Shellsburg will confront a Clippers team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Ankeny (Ankeny, IA). The Clippers record now stands at 19-0.
The Pirates (9-9) will now prepare for their test against Le Mars (Le Mars, IA). The Bulldogs enter the non-league test with a 4-4 record. In their last contest, Le Mars tipped Jefferson (Council Bluffs, IA), 3-0, in a league contest.
