The Verndale Pirates volleyball team scored 2 points and limited the host Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder to 0 in the Pirates non-league victory on Saturday.

The Pirates now possess a 5-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg for a non-league game on Saturday, September 9. Verndale will meet a Fighting Saints team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Renville County West (Renville, MN). The Fighting Saints record now stands at 0-1.

The Thunder (1-5) will now prepare for their game against Browerville/Eagle Valley (Browerville, MN). The Tigers enter the Prairie game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, Browerville/Eagle Valley defeated Upsala (Upsala, MN), 3-0, in a league game.
