The Wayne County Cardinals held off the visiting Madison Southern Eagles volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Cardinals now have a 5-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Clinton County for a non-league game on Monday, September 11.
The Eagles (4-10) will now prepare for their game against Berea (Berea, KY). The Pirates enter the District 44 game with a 4-6 record. In their last game, Berea was nudged by Frankfort (Frankfort, KY), 2-0, in a non-league game.
