Fans at Monday's non-league battle between the Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC) and the visiting Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC), saw Smoky Mountain's soccer squad hold off Owen by a count of 1-0.

The Mustangs (4-1) will now prepare for their battle against Enka (Enka, NC). The Jets enter the non-league battle with a 2-5 record. In their last battle, Enka was edged by North Henderson (Hendersonville, NC), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Warhorses battle the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) in a non-league battle, on Wednesday, September 18. Owen will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Cougars enter the battle with a 3-1 record after their 2-1 non-league win over West Henderson (Hendersonville, NC).
