In Monday's non-league outing, the host Father McGivney Catholic Griffins soccer squad scored a tight 5-0 victory over the Jersey Panthers.
The Griffins (5-0) will now prepare for their outing against Althoff Catholic (Belleville, IL). The Crusaders go into the Gateway Metro outing with a 3-2 record. In their last outing, Althoff Catholic got by Metro-East Lutheran (Edwardsville, IL), 9-0, in a league outing.
Next up, the Panthers confront the Mascoutah Indians (Mascoutah, IL) in a Mississippi Valley outing, on Tuesday, September 10. Jersey will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Indians go into the outing with a 4-3 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Von Steuben (Chicago, IL).
