Fans at Monday's non-league battle between the St. Thomas Academy Cadets (Mendota Heights, MN) and the host Hill-Murray Pioneers (Maplewood, MN), saw St. Thomas Academy's soccer squad hold off Hill-Murray by a score of 2-1.

The Cadets (3-2) will now prepare for their battle against South St. Paul (South St. Paul, MN). The Packers enter the Class A Section 3 battle with a 1-4 record. In their last battle, South St. Paul was edged by North (North St. Paul, MN), 4-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Pioneers confront the Mahtomedi Zephyrs (Mahtomedi, MN) in a Class A Section 4 battle, on Wednesday, September 11. Hill-Murray will attempt to improve on its 1-5 season record. The Zephyrs enter the battle with a 6-0 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Tartan (Oakdale, MN).
