Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) backers exited the stadium pleased Monday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the visiting Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC), 3-1 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Porter Ridge advances its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Palisades (Charlotte, NC) to clash with the Pumas in a non-league test on Tuesday, September 10. The Pumas come into the test with a record of 5-1. Palisades won 8-0 in their recent non-league test against Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC)

The Patriots now have a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they host Garinger for a Southwestern 4A test on Tuesday, September 17.
