In Monday's non-league challenge, the visiting Northern Highlands Highlanders volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Fair Lawn Cutters.

The Highlanders (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Ramapo (Franklin Lakes, NJ). The Raiders come into the Big North - Freedom challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, Ramapo edged Bergen Tech (Hackensack, NJ), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Cutters play the Lakeland Regional Lancers (Wanaque, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, September 11. Fair Lawn will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Lancers come into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Mahwah (Mahwah, NJ).
