Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans (Riverview, FL) boosters left the game thrilled Tuesday as they saw their volleyball team hold off the host Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Phoenix (Tampa, FL), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans (3-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Bayshore Christian (Tampa, FL). The Faith Warriors enter the non-league challenge with a 3-0 record.

Next, the Phoenix meet the Universal Academy Falcons (Tampa, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, September 17. Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate will attempt to improve on its 1-3 season record. The Falcons go into the test with a 4-1 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Out-of-Door Academy (Sarasota, FL).
