In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the host Sun Valley Spartans volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Piedmont Panthers.
The Spartans (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC). The Pirates enter the non-league challenge with a 2-4 record. In their last test, Porter Ridge was defeated by Weddington (Matthews, NC), 2-0, in a non-league test.
The Panthers now own a 3-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Weddington for a non-league test on Thursday, September 11. Piedmont will face a Warriors squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 5-0.
