Davis Pirates (Yakima, WA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Toppenish Wildcats (Toppenish, WA), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Pirates (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Wenatchee (Wenatchee, WA). The Panthers come into the 4A Columbia Basin Big-9 challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, Wenatchee lost by Lynden (Lynden, WA), 3-2, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Wildcats meet the Grandview Greyhounds (Grandview, WA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 11. Toppenish will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Greyhounds come into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Tri-Cities Prep (Pasco, WA).
