The Mountaineers now possess a 3-6 record. They play next when they host Mountain Heritage for a Western Highlands 2A/3A match on Thursday, September 11. Mitchell will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Avery County (Newland, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 4-6.

The Black Hawks (1-8) will now prepare for their match against Asheville (Asheville, NC). The Cougars enter the Mountain 5A/6A bout with a 4-4 record. In their last bout, Asheville nipped McDowell (Marion, NC), 3-1, in a non-league bout.
