Sandwich waltzed into their contest on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Middleborough Sachems. This was a revenge game for the Blue Knights: when they faced off against the Sachems back in April, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

The team relied heavily on James Niemiec, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Coughlan, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Sandwich pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Middleborough, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Sandwich will challenge Rockland at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Middleborough, they will take on Durfee at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
