Cosumnes Oaks was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out the Franklin Wildcats 5-4. That's two games straight that the Wolfpack have won by just one run.
Amyah Avila made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Onna Swanigan, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mya Wilson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
