Volleyball Recap: Tri Falls Despite Big Games from Camrie Spurgin and Ava Houchins

Tri came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Hagerstown Tigers. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-19, 25-16.

Ava Houchins and Camrie Spurgin certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Houchins had 14 digs and two assists, while Spurgin had nine assists and five digs. Houchins has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Tri's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Hagerstown, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Tri has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Centerville on the 17th. As for Hagerstown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Cambridge City Lincoln on the 18th.
