Preview: Homestead Broncos vs. Edison Red Raiders
The Homestead Broncos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Edison Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Homestead has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 202 points over their last five matchups.
Last Friday, Homestead took their game at home with ease, bagging a 45-14 victory over Southridge. The result was nothing new for Homestead, who have now won four contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
Joshua Townsend was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes. Jakhai Rainey made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Edison fell victim to Booker T. Washington's stalwart defense on Monday and couldn't make it onto the board. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-0 to the Tornadoes, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Edison has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Homestead's victory bumped their season record to 6-1 while Edison's loss dropped theirs to 4-3.
Homestead suffered a grim 46-20 defeat to Edison in their previous meeting back in October of 2020. Can Homestead avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
