Softball Preview: Heritage Hawks vs. Covenant Academy        
        
		
             Heritage has gone 3-0 against Covenant Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Monday. The Heritage Hawks' homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Covenant Academy at 5:00  p.m. Heritage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.4  runs per game  this season.
 Last Monday, Heritage got the win against Landmark Christian  by a conclusive  16-3. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won seven contests by eight  runs or more  so far this season.
  Amelia Thornton was a major factor no matter where she played. She  struck out six batters over  two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Zoey Hall and  Paige Holcombe did most of the damage at the plate:  Hall  scored four  runs and  stole a base while going 4-for-4, while  Holcombe  scored four  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-3. With that strong performance,  Hall is now averaging an impressive 2.1  runs per game.  Kaylee Cotten was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Heritage  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .657. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Landmark Christian only posted  an  OBP of  .235.
 Meanwhile, Covenant Academy lost  15-3 to Central Fellowship Christian Academy on Thursday.
 Covenant Academy saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Rachel Williams, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Heritage's victory was  their sixth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Covenant Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Covenant Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Heritage hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of 0. It's a different story for Covenant Academy, though, as  they've  only  averaged 0. Will they be able to contain Heritage's hitters?
