Volleyball Recap: Raleigh Charter Wins Going Away Against Triangle Math & Science

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Franklin Academy, Raleigh Charter was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Triangle Math & Science Tigers 3-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-0 win last Thursday.

One reason for the win was Raleigh Charter's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-14.

Shelby Payne had an outrageously good game as she had 14 assists and eight aces. Those eight aces gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylin Sheng, who had four digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Raleigh Charter was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 23 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in three consecutive matches.

Raleigh Charter's victory bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Triangle Math & Science, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-20.

Raleigh Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Roxboro Community on the 9th. Triangle Math & Science does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
