Softball Recap: Jay Royals vs. Northview Chiefs
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jay can now relate to. They fell 4-1 to the Northview Chiefs on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Chiefs this season, with their most recent loss being a 9-1 defeat two weeks ago.
Layna Lowry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Jay saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiley Samford, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Jay's loss dropped their record down to 21-4. As for Northview, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.
As of now, neither Jay nor Northview have any future games scheduled.
