Baseball Game Preview: Albany Lions vs. Anson Tigers

The Albany Lions will face off against the Anson Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Albany will be strutting in after a victory while Anson will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Albany turned things around against Haskell on Monday. They put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 14-4 win.

Brody Oliver made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits. Oliver was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Landon Picquet was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aiden Vickers, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Albany was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Anson duked it out with Hawley on Monday. The Tigers lost 10-1 to the Bearcats. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Bearcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Anson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Albany, the victory got them back to even at 4-4-3.
