Baseball Recap: Chicago Washington Comes Up Short

Chicago Washington extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 9-15 in the process. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brooks Eagles. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Brooks, their victory bumped their record up to 9-18. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the match before.

For Brooks' part, Justin Slaughter and Adrian Ayala did most of the damage at the plate: Slaughter got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Ayala went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Ayala has posted since back in May of 2024. Kelly West was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

While Chicago Washington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
