Basketball Recap: Auburn Takes a Loss

Auburn was the 55-39 winner over Athens when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Auburn Trojans took a 41-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Athens Warriors on Thursday.

Athens' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Bee, who posted 12 points and seven boards. Addie Stadsholt was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Athens, their record now sits at an identical 14-10.

Auburn has already played their next contest (against St. Joseph-Ogden), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Athens will face off against Monticello at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monticello will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Athens surely won't give up without a fight.
