Softball Game Preview: Greater Lowell Tech Gryphons vs. Shawsheen Valley Tech Rams

The Greater Lowell Tech Gryphons will challenge the Shawsheen Valley Tech Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Greater Lowell Tech's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Whittier RVT 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Gryphons, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Whittier RVT's batters probably weren't too happy with Amaya Flood, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 17 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Those 17 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Flood.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maddy 'Bertie' Bertrand, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Lily Locapo, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Shawsheen Valley Tech can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Northeast Metro RVT as they made off with a 16-4 win.

Shawsheen Valley Tech's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Greater Lowell Tech, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
