Volleyball Game Preview: Point Loma Pointers vs. San Diego Cavers

The Point Loma Pointers are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the San Diego Cavers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Point Loma is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

On Tuesday, Point Loma came up short against Morse and fell 3-1. While the Pointers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-17 in the first set.

Point Loma started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-18, 26-24, 25-18.

Meanwhile, San Diego also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Canyon Hills by a score of 3-1. The Cavers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Point Loma's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for San Diego, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Point Loma came out on top in a nail-biter against San Diego when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Does Point Loma have another victory up their sleeve, or will San Diego turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
