Silverado hasn't had much luck against Sierra Vista recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Skyhawks will look to defend their home field against the Mountain Lions at 3:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Silverado's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Desert Pines with a sharp 17-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Skyhawks in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won seven in a row.

Jayden Orphan was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adam Rhodus, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Silverado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Sierra Vista entered their tilt with Desert Pines on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Jaguars 15-0.
Dillon Smith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Owen Angelo was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Michael Alvarado was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Sierra Vista pushed their record up to 16-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Silverado, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.
Silverado suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Sierra Vista when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Skyhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
