Rocky Mount Prep is 0-10 against Weldon since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Weldon Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Rocky Mount Prep comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.

On Tuesday, Rocky Mount Prep had to suffer through a rough 53-9 loss at the hands of Northwest Halifax. Rocky Mount Prep has not had much luck with Northwest Halifax recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Weldon's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Northampton County, falling 57-29. Weldon was down 43-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Weldon had strong showings from Kamya Coles, who scored 15 points along with two steals, and Shaelyn Johnson, who scored seven points. Coles hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.

Rocky Mount Prep dropped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.8 points per game. As for Weldon, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
