Softball Recap: Rowlett Comes Up Short

Rowlett suffered their closest loss since March 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wylie Pirates by a score of 15-13. Even if the Eagles couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Dylan Buls made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Jordynn Williams was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-5.

Rowlett is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10-1. As for Wylie, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Rowlett will take on Lakeview Centennial at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Rowlett has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Wylie, they will challenge Garland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Wylie's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matches.
