Basketball Recap: Spring Hill Starts Season with Victory Against Eudora

Spring Hill had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Eudora Cardinals with a sharp 72-51 win on Friday. The game was close at halftime, but the Broncos turned on the heat in the second half with 43 points.

Spring Hill was led to victory by Jackson Bruce and Eli Hedrick. Bruce shot 56% from the field to rack up 22 points, while Hedrick went 8-for-14 on his way to 18 points along with five assists and four steals. Those 18 points gave Hedrick a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooks Bayer, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 9 points and three steals.

Looking ahead, Spring Hill will head out on the road to take on Emporia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eudora, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Atchison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
