Volleyball Recap: Carthage Comes Up Short

Carthage suffered their biggest defeat since September 30th on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to Republic. Carthage has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Elsie Willis paced Carthage's offense, picking up nine kills. Willis got some help from Sadie Comer and her 14 assists. Willis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Addyson Warner was a one-woman wrecking crew For Republic. as she had 19 digs and three aces. Player #34 also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Carthage's loss dropped their record down to 10-16-1. As for Republic, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-10-1 record this season.

Carthage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Republic, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Nixa on the 25th.
